The Website Analytics Report is a new page in your site's admin panel where you can see the most important performance metrics for your site in an interactive table powered by Google Analytics 4. For information on accessing and reading the report, click here. This page has answers to common questions commonly asked about the Website Analytics Report and the transition from Dealer Spike's previous web analytics powered by Piwik Pro.

Why are my analytics changing?

Dealer Spike is upgrading its built-in website analytics from a system powered by Piwik Pro to Google Analytics 4, the web's premier analytics tool. The new report should offer the most reliable and accurate look at your site's performance. This change will bring your basic site analytics in line with the reports from our digital marketing teams, who have always relied on Google Analytics.

What differences can I expect in my data?

You may notice changes in the numbers from your website analytics in the new report. Every metric tracked by Google Analytics 4 will likely be slightly different from what the old Piwik Pro-powered system reported. This is due to various factors like differences in filtering bots (GA4 may catch bots that the old platform would pass as valid users), differences in tracking user sessions and campaigns, and differences in script loading time (GA4 may run faster and catch users navigating away from the page that the old system could miss).

Will my historical data be there?

We've brought over one year of historical data for your site. Additional data from the old platform won't be retained in the new system.

Will this affect my Digital Marketing reports?

No, your reports for services from our Digital Marketing teams were already powered by Google Analytics and won't be affected by the change, although the new Website Analytics Report should align more closely with your other reports.
