Ecommerce offers two delivery options: Shipping and In-Store Pickup. In-Store Pickup is an Ecommerce order fulfillment feature that allows shoppers to make a purchase and pick it up at their desired location, at their convenience.

Enabling In-Store Pickup allows dealers to convert a sale online without a complicated shipping operation or worrying how to get a product into the hands of a customer. It empowers dealers to create a simple solution to purchasing products for customers who need them quickly and for the shopper to know when they show up at a dealership, that the order is already placed and ready for pickup.

By allowing customers to choose and buy a product online and then pick it up in store, In-Store Pickup provides an end-to-end solution for the purchase process, letting dealers convert potential buyers outside of business hours.

Configure and Enable In-Store Pickup

Dealers should complete prior items in the Ecommerce Setup Checklist and Troubleshooting article before configuring an Ecommerce delivery option.

In-Store Pickup is available as an alternative to Shipping for all Ecommerce Products. If you can arrange for a Product to be at a dealer location, you may wish to make it available for In-Store Pickup.

After a quick configuration, In-Store Pickup offers a great alternative to Ecommerce Shipping at no additional cost to dealers or customers.

Go to Webstore > In-Store Pickup.
Go to the In-Store Pickup section and confirm all fields.
1. Enable In-Store Pickup for all or some Products
  - All Orders: all Products are eligible for In-Store Pickup.
  - Shelf Quantity Only: Products listed with shelf quantities are available for In-Store Pickup.
  - Disabled: In-Store Pickup is not available for any products.
2. In-Store Pickup Only: Disable Shipping as an option for all purchases on Ecommerce.
3. Pickup Notification Instructions: Enter a custom message. This will be sent to customers who select In-Store Pickup.
4. Click to Save changes.
Go to the Franchise & Pickup Settings section and enter one or more more locations that you would like to offer as pickup locations for your customers.
1. Click the Add New Location button and enter address information.
2. Repeat this for to add all locations you intend to use for In-Store Pickup.
3. Click to Save changes.

Please note that Ecommerce does not currently associate Product Inventory to a Franchise & Pickup Location.

Set Products to In-Store Pickup Only

Products can be set to allow ONLY In-Store pickup if you wish to sell Ecommerce Products not suitable for shipping.

Set Aftermarket or Private Catalog Products to In-Store Pickup Only

Go to Webstore>Products.
Select Aftermarket or Private Catalog.
Search for one or more Products and select them.
Click Edit.
Scroll to the bottom of the pop up and select a value for In-Store Pickup Only:
1. Do Not Change: Save other edits with no change to this field.
2. Enable: Product can only be purchased for in-store pickup. Shipping options are not allowed.
3. Disable: Product can be purchased via Shipping or In-Store pickup.
Click to Save.

Set OEM Parts to In-Store Pickup Only

If Allow OEM Parts for Shipment is deselected, In-Store Pickup is the only remaining purchase method for OEM Parts in Ecommerce. OEM Parts cannot be individually edited in Ecommerce.

Go to Settings>Webstore
Got to the Shipping & Taxes section.
- De-select Allow OEM Parts for Shipment.
- Click Save

Troubleshooting In-Store Pickup

Customers can only select select In-Store Pickup OR Shipping for all items in a cart

The cart can only accommodate one delivery method (In-Store Pickup OR Shipping) currently.

Customers can't check out with In-Store Pickup

Is Inventory listed for the Product in Ecommerce?

Go to Webstore > In-Store Pickup.
- Go to In-Store Pickup.
- If In-Store Pickup is set to Shelf Quantity Only, it will not be available for Products without Inventory entered in Ecommerce.
- Click Save if any changes have been made.

Is In-Store Pickup enabled?

Go to Webstore > In-Store Pickup.
- Go to In-Store Pickup.
- If In-Store Pickup is set to Disabled, it will not be available.
- Click Save if any changes have been made.

Do you have a franchise pickup location?

Go to Settings>Webstore.
- Go to Franchise & Pickup Locations.
- Confirm at least one location has been added. In-Store Pickup cannot be selected by customers if there are no Franchise & Pickup Locations.
- Click Save if any changes have been made.

If you are encountering issues not noted here remember to review prior items in the Ecommerce Setup Checklist and Troubleshooting article before configuring an Ecommerce delivery option.

How do I change the status of an Order once it has been picked up?

Once you have updated the settings specific to In-Store Pickup, you can then go to the Order Lookup to see and change the status of orders.
You can go into a specific order and mark it as “Ready for Pickup” when it is available for the customer to pick up. When done, the order status will update to reflect this in the list of orders.
When an order is set to the Ready for Pickup status, an email notification to your customer will then be triggered. The email will include the ready status of the order, order number, specific directions on how to pick up and pickup location.

Once an order has been picked up by the customer, you can go back to the Order Lookup page and update the order as “Fulfilled.” The order status will then be updated accordingly in the list of orders.

Through its simplicity and customizable features, In-Store Pickup gives dealers the autonomy to showcase Products that can be bought online and picked up in store or a hybrid pickup and shipping operation to best fit their needs.
