Generally speaking, Shelf Quantities represent inventory and pricing from fulfillment sources that are outside the aftermarket distributor network. This feature grants you the ability to manage current inventory levels and pricing for products that you either have in your store or products that you carry in your Private Catalog.
Start by accessing your site's Ecommerce Admin Panel. If you need instructions on accessing Ecommerce, click here.
Browse to the File Center using the main navigation bar. Near the middle of the left-hand navigation bar, under " Shelf Quantities", click "Client: Import Shelf Quantities"
Step 1 - Download Template
Download and open the Compatible File Template which is in the blue hyperlink.
For this template and any others in the E-Commerce platform, make sure that you review the developer notes so that you can ensure that your file meets the required specifications.
Step 2 - Populate Template With Your Data
This template has five (5) columns, ALL of which are mandatory. Below we offer an explanation of what each column header represents.
The name of the catalog. For this segment, we are using AFTERMARKET (yes, all caps)
The MPN of the Product
The quantity that you have on hand.
Note: The software will detect when you make a sale on the webstore and decrement your shelf inventory automatically. What it can’t do is recognize if a sale occurred on your sales floor, unless of course, you have integrated with CDK Lightspeed.
If someone buys the product from your webstore, how many days do you need to get a tracking number to the buyer? Put that value here.
How much do you want to sell the product for? Put that value here.
Step 3 - Upload Your Data
Back to the user interface under File Center. When you click "Client: Import Shelf Quantities" you will see "Choose File" next to File Upload. Click this button to locate the file on your computer. Double-click your file and it will be ready to go.
Enter your email address if you want to be notified when the job is complete. (optional).
Step 4 - Monitor Job Processing
You will want to monitor the Import that you just ran in File Center. The job will be in a Pending or Processing status until the software has completed it. These jobs typically take 30-60 minutes depending on the size of the CSV file.
Once finished you will see the job Completed or Complete w/ Warnings. Click on the job and you will have access to a Processing Report. Open the report and the success or failure of each line item will be reported.
