The Private Catalog also requires ongoing inventory upkeep and price and sale management, as dealers provide all Private Catalog data.

Getting your Private Product data into the backend

First you need to enter your basic Product and Product Group information. See step "a" if you also need Fitment information.

Product and Product Groups by user interface: This is a great option for creating one Product at a time and dealing with less than 100 Products. For detailed instructions, Click Here

Product and Product Groups by csv File: Create Products by importing a structured csv file into the File Center. This is the way to go if you are looking to create Products in bulk. Recommended for anything more than 50 Products. For detailed instructions, Click Here.

Add any Categories needed for your Private Catalogs

Confirm you have all Categories you would like to list your new Products under.

Categories by user interface:: This is a great option for small Private Catalogs. For detailed instructions, Click Here
Categories by csv file: If you need to make large changes to the Category structure read more on exporting and importing the entire Category structure here.

Putting private catalog products in categories with aftermarket products can lead to data loss when updates are processed for those aftermarket products. For this reason we recommend using custom categories for your private catalog products. For more information, see this article.

Managing Inventory for your Private Catalog data

We recommend regular Inventory updates for Private Category Ecommerce success. You may also wish to make use of the Sale prices, which use the same import.

User Interface: This is a great option for changing the price and shelf inventory of one Product at a time and dealing with less than 20 Products. For detailed instructions, Click Here
Import csv File: Update pricing and inventory regularly by importing a structured csv file into the File Center. This is the way to go if you are looking to update quantities of several Products on a regular basis. We recommend this for anything more than 20 Products. For detailed instructions, Click Here

Listing Private/Custom Data to the Webstore

Associate or Map your Product Groups to the Categories you want them to display within.

Unlisted Product Groups are not available on your webstore. Product Groups must be Mapped to a Category to show on your webstore. In fact, Products from deleted Product Groups are still visible under Catalogs in the Ecommerce Editor, they have just been stripped of Categories.

User Interface: This is a great option for most cases. We recommend using this for anything less than 100 Products at a time. In fact, it can be a great option for listing almost any amount of Products. Everything is highlight, point, and click. For detailed instructions, Click Here
Import csv File: Great for listing Products in bulk. The csv file allows you to easily visualize all of your Catalog data and the Categories that your are trying to map to. For detailed instructions, Click Here
