Log into your site's admin panel.
Go to the Inventory Manager page from the Inventory dropdown at the top of the screen.
Select the unit you'd like to add overlay text to from the dropdown at the top of the page (or start a new unit).
Scroll down to the Overlay Text field. Either click on it to select from the preloaded options or click the icon next to the field to change it to text input and put in a custom message.

Overlay text is a label that appears on top of a unit’s primary image on the inventory pages. This article will cover two ways you can add overlay text to your units. The first way is with the Inventory Manager page in the Admin Panel. The other way is through the Inventory Grid page. There are a few differences on the Inventory Manager page depending on whether your site is set up with platform version 6 or 7. Screenshots have been included for both. You can reach out to Technical Support for very simple modifications to the text overlay as it appears on your site such as background color, opacity, and font styles (bold, italic, etc).

INVENTORY MANAGER METHOD:

Start by signing into your site's Admin Panel. If you need instructions on signing in, click here.
Navigate to the Inventory Manager by clicking Inventory in the top navigation, then Inventory Manager.
If you don’t see the Inventory option, your user account might be missing the inventory permission. Reach out to another admin user with higher permissions or contact Technical Support to get that permission turned on.
Find the unit you want to add overlay text to by using the search bar or scrolling through your units.

Scroll down to the Overlay Text field. Use the preloaded options or click the toggle to enter custom text.

Scroll to the bottom of the inventory manager and click the Save button.

Once you have saved the unit, the text overlay will show up on the front end.

INVENTORY GRID METHOD:

Start by signing into your site's Admin Panel. If you need instructions on signing in, click here.
Navigate to the Inventory Grid by clicking Inventory in the top navigation, then Inventory Grid.

If you don’t see the Inventory option, your user might be missing the inventory permission. Reach out to the admin user to get that permission turned on.

In the top options, click the Toggle Options button to reveal all the options available.
Click the checkbox for the option Overlay Text

Note the new imageOverlayText column in the grid. Click in that column and in the line of the unit you would like to add overlay text to. A text field opens up where you can enter your text.

Hit the Enter key on your keyboard to make the change. You will see a message in the top right that states “Successfully Updated”. If you do not see the message, the text you entered did not save.
After that notification you should see that cell in the imageOverlayText column now has a value. You can move on to the next item.
