Ecommerce offers two options for creating sales:

Immediately discount Products associated to a manufacturer using a Price Rule.
Set a Sale Price on individual Products and toggle Product Groups to On Sale.

Discount a Manufacturer

You can set Price Rules on any manufacturer's Products (ie, Polaris, Bridgestone, etc) under Settings > Pricing Rules. This will add a percentage discount to all Products associated to that manufacturer.

Price rules will be ignored for a Product if:

There is a Manual Price Override.
If the Product Group is On Sale and there is an entered Sale Price.

You may wish to set relevant Product Groups to On Sale after the Price Rule is created. This will add the On Sale banner to selected Product Group webstore listings.

Add Sale Price to Individual Products

Individual Products can be given a Sale Price which replaces Price/MSRP when the Product Group is toggled to On Sale.

There are three places to update a Product Sale Price:

Edit Private Catalog Products manually under Catalogs > Search Private
Edit Aftermarket Catalog Products manually under Catalogs > Search Aftermarket
Import Sale Price in bulk within File Center

You may wish to set relevant Product Groups to On Sale after the Sale Prices are entered. This will add the On Sale banner and show entered Sale Price in place of Price/MSRP for selected Product Group webstore listings.

Set Product Groups to On Sale

Setting a Product Group to On Sale adds a banner to the Product Group webstore listing and displays Sale Price.

Go to Webstore > Products.
Find and Select the Product Group(s) you wish to Edit from one Manufacturer Group and Catalog.
Click to Edit the Product Group(s).
Enter your email address for a job completion notification, toggle On Sale to Enable and click Confirm.
Repeat for Product Groups under different Manufacturer Groups and Catalogs.

What does On Sale do?

Products in an On Sale Product group will display Sale Price in place of Price/MRSP if:

A Sale Price exists.
The Product is in stock.
The Product Group Price is not hidden.

Sale Price is never affected by Price Rules or Price Overrides.

If you aren't sure which Sale Prices you have entered in the system you may wish to use the Shelf Quantities export under File Center to view the Sale Price value for each product in the export.

Aftermarket and Private Catalog Products do not initially have Sale Price. All Sale Price values were manually entered or imported after Product creation.
