Update Product Group Category Mapping by User Interface

This article documents Ecommerce management systems. If you need instructions on accessing Ecommerce, click here.

It is very easy to change the category that a product is listed to and you can perform the task directly from the dashboard of the E-Commerce Configuration.

If you choose to manage Categories or require Categories for Private Catalog Product Groups you will need to periodically update modified product mappings using the instructions below.

You may also update Product Group mappings using a CSV import.

We recommend using custom Categories for your Private Catalog Product Groups. Data loss may occur on Private Catalog Product Groups in Aftermarket Categories when Aftermarket Catalogs update. Aftermarket Catalog Product Group mappings may also be overwritten. For more information, see Automatic Category Management.

List or Update Product Group Categories from Catalogs

Deleted Product Groups are simply delisted from the webstore and may be restored by listing from the Appropriate Catalog as documented below.

Catalogs allow mapping Categories to unlisted Product Groups. If you update one Product within a Product Group, it will map all Products within the Product Group to the chosen Category.

Browse to the Catalog Data that is associated with the Product Group you want to list.

Highlight the row of the Product and click “Webstore”. Then click “Choose Category” and browse to the category that you want to list the product in. Once you get to the desired category, click “Select”

Make sure you click all the way down to the category that you want the product listed to. Don’t settle for the most top-level category. If you want to categorize Brake Line Fittings, don’t just get to Brakes or Brake Lines and then quit. Click all the way down into Brake > Brake Lines > Line Fittings.

Relist or Update Product Group Categories from Products

Once a Product Group is listed you may also update the listing Category within Webstore > Products.

Only previously mapped/listed Product Groups show under Webstore > Products.

Proceed to Webstore > Products and browse to the Product Group(s).
Highlight your Product Group(s) and click “Recategorize". Select a Category of your choice.
