Log into your site's admin panel.
Click on the Slideshows tab at the top of the page, then on the name of the slideshow you want to add a slide to.
Click the Upload Image button on the panel at the top of the page.
Click the Choose File button and select the image you want to upload from your device, then click the Upload button at the bottom of the page.
Look for the slide you just uploaded in the list and fill out whichever fields you want. Then click the Active checkbox and the Update Slide Content button to save your changes and make your new slide live.

The slideshow is a section of a website that displays a series of rotating slides. The slideshow tool in your admin panel allows you to upload slides as well as remove and edit slides in your slideshow.

The slideshow tool, or rotating banners, can engage visitors to your website in a visually appealing way by showcasing different aspects of a product or service. Rotating banners can also highlight multiple offers, promotions, or key messages for shoppers in an efficient manner by assigning call-to-actions for each slide and without cluttering the homepage

This article will give you a step by step process on how to upload slides using the slideshow tool.

Adding Slides

Merchandising/Slideshow slide order may affect the dealership's ability to claim Co-op reimbursements. OEM Co-op contracts for reimbursement or other OEM agreements, may require a specific OEM to appear first in your Merch Slider.

Always check with your dealership business lead before changing slide order.

Start by signing into your site's Admin Panel. If you need instructions on signing in, click here.
Once logged in click Slideshows on the top menu bar. When the dropdown appears you will be able to select any of the slideshows that are on your site. Usually the slideshow named “Main-SlideShow” will be the primary one on your home page. Please select the slideshow you need to add a slide to.
Once the slideshow management page loads click the Upload Image button.
The dimensions for your slideshow will be listed next to the Upload Image button at the top of the page. Your slides should conform to these dimensions, or the slideshow may look stretched or poorly formatted. Free software such as https://www.photopea.com/ can be used to correct your slide dimensions before uploading to the slideshow.
On the next page you will be able to upload one to four images at a time. Click the Choose File button and a pop-up will appear where you can select an image from your computer. Once you’ve selected the images you want to upload, click the Upload button at the bottom of the page. When the “Files Uploaded” message appears at the bottom you are safe to go back into your slideshow management page through the Slideshows icon on the top menu bar.
Avoid uploading slides with image sizes above one megabyte to keep the page the slideshow is on from loading slower for users. You may use free software such as https://tinypng.com/ to compress your image before uploading to the slideshow.
When you return to the management page, your new slide should appear in the list, but it won't be active yet. Here's how to fill in each of the info fields and activate the slide.
1. Adding a URL to the Link field will turn the slide into a clickable call-to-action to send a user to another page, like a promotional page on the site or an external link to social media. All links should begin with https:// such as https://www.yoursitehere.com/--info.
2. The Alt field adds an invisible text property called alt text to the image that informs visually impaired users and automated visitors like search engine crawlers what's in the slide. Accurate alt text improves your site's browsing experience and can help with your search engine optimization.
  If your slide has a promotional message (like "25% off all pre-owned ATVs this weekend"), that information should also be written in the Alt field, or you may be vulnerable to lawsuits from users who aren't able to view the slide to see the text on it.
3. The Title field will add another non-visible text description to the slide known as a title attribute. The text you enter here will appear as a tooltip when the user hovers over the slide.
4. The Sequence field allows you to control what order your slides appear in. Slides with lower numbers will appear before slides with higher numbers. Slides with the same Sequence number will appear in the order they were added to the slideshow. You may also use negative numbers.
5. The Slide Dates fields allow you to set when a slide will activate and/or deactivate automatically. A date picker will populate when clicked. You may also type in dates in the following format: mm/dd/yyyy.
6. The Active checkbox controls whether a slide is currently visible in the live slideshow.
7. Under the Active checkbox you'll find four buttons. Update Slide Content will save any changes you've made to the slide fields. Delete Slide will remove the slide from this page. Restore Original Image will revert any cropping or resizing that's been done to the slide here. Resize Image will stretch the image to match the slideshow dimensions listed at the top of the page.
  After you toggle the Active checkbox and clicking the Update Slide Content button, your slide should be active and visible on the front end of the website.
You may only make changes to one slide at a time from the Slideshow Management page. If you change fields on multiple slides and then click the Update Slide Content button, only the slide you clicked the button on will be updated, and the rest of your changes will be lost.
There's no button for it, but you can also crop slides from the slideshow tool. To do so, just click on the image where you want to start cropping and then drag your cursor. A box will appear over the image in the dimensions set for your slideshow. If you don't like the way the image looks after cropping it, just click the Restore Original Image button to reset it.

Troubleshooting

My slide isn't appearing in the slideshow

Once a slide is uploaded to your slideshow it is not active until you check the Active checkbox and click the Update Slide Content button.

I'm encountering an error on the Slideshow Management page

Avoid naming the image file with special characters such as spaces, $, %, @, etc. Best practice is to stick with dashes or underscores.
